Q. Where is Delco Field?
A. Delco Field is a hidden treasure located in West Anaheim on Magnolia Blvd. where the 5 and 91 freeways meet. West Anaheim Little League plays baseball on land previously owned by GM's Delco Remy Div. battery plant (aka, Delphi Energy and Engine Management Systems). The unofficial street address is 1211 N Magnolia Ave, Anaheim CA 92801 which is now located by the new Northgate Warehouse that lies on the corner of Magnolia Ave and Gonzalez Way. Through volunteerism, donations, and snack bar revenue West Anaheim Little League proudly maintains these fields for the youth of West Anaheim.
Q. What are the boundaries for West Anaheim Little League?
A. To play Baseball with West Anaheim Little League your child must live within the boundaries of Beach Blvd. on the West, Katella Ave. on the South, Brookhurst on the East, and Cresent/Dale and the 5 Fwy on the North.
Boundaries for Fastpitch Softball vary. If no Little League Softball programs exist in your area you may play Fastpitch softball with West Anaheim Little League.
Q. How old does my son or daughter have to be to play?
A. Little League Baseball is designed for children League Ages 4-18. West Anaheim and District 46 are also proud to provide a 'Challenger Division' for children with special needs.
Q. What do you mean when you say 'League Age'?
A. A child's League Age is determined if his/her birthday falls on or before a certain date during the year. The date is different for Baseball and Softball (don't ask me why, I haven't a clue). For baseball the League Age is determined by how old your child will be on May 1st of the current baseball season. For softball the League Age is determined by how old your daughter will be on January 1st of the current softball season. To check your child's age please consult the Little League Calculator
Q. How much does it cost to play?
A. The cost for Spring Ball and Winter Ball is determined each year by the Board of Directors. The Board considers the cost of uniforms, equipment, field maintenance, trophies, pictures, and other league expenses. The league generally offers early registration and multiple child discounts (varies from year to year). Generally speaking, however, the cost for Spring Ball is around $100 per child and the cost for Winter Ball is around $50. Click Here for the latest registration information.
Q. How many games are played and when?
A. Spring Season will consist of 20-24 games beginning in April. Winter Season will consist of 10 games among other leagues. Spring Season teams will play two games per week, one a weekday game and the other a Saturday game. New schedules are made each year depending on the number of teams in each division. Weekday games may or may not be on the same day each week.
Q. How often will practice be?
A. Each team's practice schedule is determined by the team Manager. In the month before the season begins, some managers practice 3-5 times a week to prepare for the new season. Once the season begins, most managers limit practice to 1-3 times per week. Times and locations of practice will be determined by the Manager.
